An initiative of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation

The Issue

Right now, millions of kids throughout our country are living in what is called the opportunity gap—an ever widening divide between the opportunities available to kids from “have” and those from “have not” backgrounds.

3,346 children in Duluth and 1,038 children in Superior live in poverty. These kids and their families face barriers that include: transportation, housing, health care, out-of-school programming, childcare, job training and more.

If we come together community to community, neighbor to neighbor, organization to organization we can increase opportunities so that all of our kids can reach their full potential.

This can happen.

Progress is being made right now.
